FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Solon, OH) — May 11th, 2023 — Kanan Enterprises, parent company of King Nut and Peterson Nut Companies, was certified a SQF level 2 by NSF International for their Plant #1. This was an unannounced audit. SQF stands for Safe Quality Food and it certifies the quality management system of King Nut. This audit is based on accredited HACCP Food Safety Plans. SQF Level 2 is one of the highest ratings a food/baking company can achieve with regard to quality under this prestigious audit.
King Nut Managing Director of Quality Assurance and Product Development Paul Storsin was on hand to review the results and accept the certification. King Nut CEO Martin Kanan said “I give credit to each and every one of our employees for their dedicated efforts in achieving this very lofty certification.”
NSF, which stands for National Sanitation Foundation, was founded in 1944 and has become the gold standard for the food industry.
